The Book Club Play

As part of its 2023-2024 Season, The Old Academy Players is proud to present Mexican-American playwright Karen Zacarías’ The Book Club Play on two weekends only September 22 – October 1, 2023 Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 2 pm and 8 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm.

 The Old Academy Players’ 536th production is produced by special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing.The Book Club Play made its world premiere in 2009 at the Round House Theater, Berkshire Theater Festival. Ana is a Type A personality who lives in a letter-perfect world with an adoring husband, the perfect job and her greatest passion: Book Club. But when her cherished group becomes the focus of a documentary film, their intimate discussions about life and literature take a turn for the hilarious in front of the inescapable camera lens. Add a provocative new member along with some surprising new book titles and a few glasses of wine and these six friends are bound for pandemonium as they start reading between the lines with side splitting results! 

Parking for all performances is free
