Clippings: A New Play Festival
A variety of short plays showcasing the writing styles of new playwrights, an ensemble cast, and upcoming creative talent in the Philly scene. All plays have undergone a weeklong workshop to grow into the pieces showcased tonight. We encourage audience members to share feedback and want to start a dialogue about the growth of the plays shown. This process is inspired by the Equinox New Play Festival at the late University of the Arts, where TBD’s Artistic Team met while working in undergrad. Equinox was a student run festival for students, by students, that allowed UArtists to take risks and experiment with different ways of producing theater. TBD aims to carry this tradition forward and continue to create a space for young creatives to enter the industry and discover their artistic voice.
