Honor. Legacy. Pride. For fifty years, the elite Charles R. Drew Prep School for Boys has fostered Black excellence. As the leader of the school’s renowned gospel choir, Pharus Young is determined to make his mark, but when his commitment to the school’s ethics code is questioned, Pharus is driven to fight for the respect he’s desperate to earn. Confronted by what it means to be a typical “Drew man,” can Pharus find his true voice when he takes his place out front?
A powerful coming-of-age story from Tyrell Alvin McCraney, the Academy Award®-winning writer of "Moonlight", "Choir Boy" electrified Broadway with its soaring live gospel, spiritual, and R&B performances.
