Theatre Philadelphia Emergency Relief launched in April 2020 as a response to COVID-19 to support theatre workers and practitioners in our region.
Through the Emergency Relief Program, Theatre Philadelphia awarded micro-grants with a sliding scale of $300-$500 to individuals who lived in the Philadelphia region, worked in theatre, and whose theatre income had been impacted by COVID-19. Individuals who lived within a 35-mile radius of Philadelphia's City Hall were eligible to apply. Micro-grants were first-come-first-serve.
Following the completion of this iteration of Emergency Relief in July 2022, Theatre Philadelphia distributed a voluntary survey to each recipient. We received 125 responses (25% response rate). Using information collected from the survey in addition to information shared on the original application, we created a program report for public distribution.
