Work in Progress Measure for Measure Project requests Artist Submissions

Measure for Measure is considered by many to be one of Shakespeare’s “problem” plays. The themes in this play center around gender, power, and sexual coercion. RevShakes is interested in uplifting the perspectives of the people most impacted by those issues in our society. Therefore, we are specifically seeking artists of all disciplines, who have lived experience with sexual or gender based violence, however they define that for themselves, for a work in progress piece related to M4M. 

(The idea to center survivors of sexual and gender based violence is born out of personal experiences and values of the project creator.) 

Time commitment: 

• Monthly in person gatherings from July - November 2025 (3-4 hours on Sundays).
• Independent work/research time between meetings on an as needed basis. This may include reading or writing materials or curating explorations to share with the ensemble at the next meeting.
• 1 week prep/rehearsal in early December to prepare for the public sharing.
• December TBA date sharing for audience.

If interested, please complete the submission form by Monday, June 16th. We will be hiring 4 artists for this project. If interviews are needed, they will take place over Zoom the week of June 16th - 21st.
