Walnut Street Theatre is currently seeking local non-union actors to understudy all roles in both plays on our Mainstage, DRIVING MISS DAISY and NOEL COWARD’S HAY FEVER. Below, please find the details as they pertain to the productions.

Seeking:
DAISY WERTHAN U/S – Female, Caucasian, to play a wide range from 60-80. Strong dramatic actor to play an aging wealthy widow from the South.
HOKE COLEBURN U/S – Male, Black, Strong actor to play Daisy’s chauffer.
BOOLIE WERTHAN U/S – Male, Caucasian, 40s, Daisy’s successful southern businessman son.
NOEL COWARD’S HAY FEVER

Seeking:
JUDITH BLISS U/S - Female 40’s. The mother of the family. A former stage actress. Very bohemian for show. Loves drama, is self-absorbed and always over the top. Comedic. English dialect.
DAVID BLISS U/S - Male 40s-50s. The financially successful father of the family. An author. Feels that his home is becoming unbearable with his family. Ambivalent. Comedic. English dialect.
SOREL and SIMON BLISS U/S – Young looking very early 20’s brother and sister. Comedic and completely inconsiderate of others’ wants/needs. Raised without ordinary conventions and manners, which leads to funny social interactions with others. Constantly poking fun at one another with little quips. English dialect.
MYRA ARUNDEL U/S - Female 30’s. Described as fashionable with marvelous clothes and en vogue with what’s considered posh. Described as a ‘‘self-conscious vampire’’ who ‘‘goes about using sexuality as a shrimping net.’’ English dialect.
RICHARD GREATHAM U/S - Male 30s. Tall handsome man. A proper English diplomat with good manners. English dialect.
JACKIE CORYTON U/S - Female. A young innocent flapper. Small and fair. English dialect.
SANDY TYRELL U/S - Male late 20’s early 30’s. Fresh faced young man who is a boxer. Has an athletic build and catches the eye of the mother Judith. English dialect.
CLARA U/S – Female, any age, to play the Bliss’ comedic housekeeper. English dialect.
