Casting for "The Orgy," a 45-minute play.
Synopsis: This comedic play centers around Elliot, a young man attempting to organize an orgy with his roommate (Jay) and several peers. His motivation stems from frustration with the challenges inherent in monogamous relationships - jealousy, insecurity, and possessiveness. Elliot believes that through this shared intimate experience, the participants might transcend their individual identities to form what he idealistically describes as "a collective body of love and freedom."
Rehearses 10 times in late August; tech runs Sept. 17; runs Sept. 25 (8 p.m.); Sept. 27 (3:30 p.m.); and Sept. 28 (7:30 p.m.) at the Louis Bluver Theater at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
Director Bio: Noah Eisenstein is a recent graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts where he studied film and television. He is an actor, writer and director who really enjoys the collaborative aspects of art-making. He practices meditation every day and is super into learning about different spiritual traditions across cultures. In his work he likes to explore things like identity, sexuality, discomfort in relationship and ego dissolution.
