Walnut Street Theatre is currently seeking local non-union actors for External Understudies for ALL roles in THE ADDAMS FAMILY: THE MUSICAL this fall to open our 26-27 Season.  Richard Stafford is set as director/choreographer.  Rehearsals are scheduled to begin on September 1 with performances running from September 22 - November 1, 2026.

Mal Beineke U/S
Alice Beineke U/S
Lucas Beineke U/S
Ensemble U/S - Strong dancers who can sing.  All ages and types to make up a chorus of "Ancestors".

Artists who are unfamiliar with Non-Union Understudies from within the Walnut Street Theatre School’s education performance program, details are provided below.

UNDERSTUDIES:

  • Are “On Call” for a specific role in the cast and must be in town for the duration of the run of THE ADDAMS FAMILY – Sept 1 – Nov 1
  • Learn/observe as much of the rehearsal process as you’d like on your own.
  • Attend Final Dress Rehearsal– September 20
  • 6 required understudy rehearsals during the show’s run –9/24, 9/25, 9/29, 10/1, 10/6, & 10/9- 12:30-5:30pm
  • Receive an expense stipend of $315 to cover any expenses in participating (parking for a day, etc.)
  • Additional Rate: $70 per show if you are called on to perform as an understudy.
  • Scholarship for a free class at the Walnut Street Theatre School.
