The Masque of La Salle University prides itself on being a student-run theater organization. This spring they will be putting on a production of the musical Into the Woods. The show will take place over the first two weekends of April 2025, with the rehearsal and tech process beginning in mid-January. The role of the Technical Director is to work directly with the Vice President of Technical Affairs (a student) as well as the other students involved in tech for the production. The job would include assisting in designing the set, along with the VP Tech and director, and then assisting in building the set throughout the weeks prior to opening. The job also includes encouraging other members of the production team to properly do their job, while helping in any department that is necessary (props, costumes, lighting, sound, carpentry).
Experience in these other departments is helpful, but we do need someone with experience in building. Tech build nights depend on the point we are at in the process, as well as the size of the set, and availability of the TD, VP Tech, and the tech members. Production meetings will be held at 5pm every Monday. TD would be needed for every production meeting, but likely not every tech night. Payment is negotiable but in the range of $1,500-$2,000.
