The Steel River Playhouse Theater Education Department is accepting submissions for contract acting instructors, directors, choreographers, and music directors for our private lessons, classes, and performance workshops during the 2024/2025 season. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates, who will welcome and celebrate students of all ages, genders, and diversities.
Applicants should have a BFA or MFA in Acting, Musical Theater, or Dance. Candidates who have extensive directing or teaching experience are also encouraged to apply. Rate of pay is commensurate with experience. Teaching artists are paid a flat fee per class. The ability to travel to Pottstown, Pennsylvania is necessary for this position.
About Steel River Playhouse
Steel River Playhouse is a non-profit theater and education organization dedicated to sharing stories that reflect our collective humanity. Steel River is located in Pottstown, PA in a 2.4 million dollar performing arts center with a 200-seat mainstage space and a 100-seat blackbox space. Our theater education programming includes a robust roster of private music and acting lessons, music and theater classes, and workshops that lead to minimally and/or fully produced performances. These classes take place in a trimester format (fall, spring, and summer) and include students from age 5 to age 85.
