JOB SUMMARY

The Summer Education Intern plays a vital role in supporting Theatre Horizon’s summer education programs, including Summer Drama Camp, Autism Drama Program, and NSTEP Camp. Working closely with the Education Manager and Summer Camp Administrator, the intern will assist with logistical coordination, communication, inventory management, and on-site support for both educational and administrative tasks. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in arts education, program management, and teaching artistry. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and passionate about fostering creative learning environments.

This particular internship will focus deeply on relationships and community. It is sponsored by Seth's Fund, which was created by the family of Seth Alan Peterson.  Seth found acceptance, encouragement, and a sense of belonging in the theater, whether on stage or working behind the scenes. We hope to continue that legacy of community through this summer internship.

Theatre Horizon uses the transformative power of storytelling to foster empathy & provide an inclusive home for artists, audiences, & students alike. We produce an ambitious season of plays, musicals, and concerts for the general public, while educating nearly 1,000 children annually in the Philadelphia suburbs via our drama classes. More than just a theatre company, Theatre Horizon strives toward being a third space* that supports creativity and the stories of the communities we share. While our community is not restricted by geographical boundaries, we are steeply rooted in our Norristown community. We believe in creating access for members of our community to engage in creative and educational opportunities that are relevant to them and guided by their own interests.

*Third places is a term coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg and refers to places where people spend time between home (‘first’ place) and work (‘second’ place). They are locations where we exchange ideas, have a good time, and build relationships.
