Arts Play Theatre is seeking teaching artists for Summer Arts Play Theatre Camp.

Details:

Weekdays, July 20 – August 7

8:30 am – 3:30 pm (Camp runs 9-3 daily)

Student Performances August 6 and 7, including an evening performance August 6

Students entering Grades 1-5

Location: ZZ Dance in Cherry Hill, NJ

Seeking teaching artists specializing in:

·      Acting. Would also direct or co-direct our production of “Magic Tree House: Dinosaurs Before Dark”

·      Design and / or visual arts

·      Music Direction (Show is performed to tracks)

Camp description:

Join Arts Play Theatre for the perfect blend of learning and fun as we rehearse and perform The Magic Tree House: Dinosaurs Before Dark. Every student will have a role in the play, and they will all help design the scenery and costumes. In addition to rehearsals, students will take classes in acting, singing, dance, and visual arts / design. They will also take special master classes led by a visiting professional guest artist. Beyond classes and rehearsals, campers will enjoy fun experiences such as time to create their own projects, creative play, and spirit days.

Other information:

Job descriptions and hours can be slightly flexible based on the strengths and skills of individual applicants. It is most important that teaching artists are skilled in creating a positive environment that allows students to be creative, collaborate, learn new skills, develop confidence and behave with empathy.

The location is not easily accessible by public transportation – you must be able to provide your own transportation. Parking is plentiful. You must be able to pass a background check that clears you to work with children. This is a W-2 position. As per New Jersey law, you will be an at-will employee.

Salary

$2,100 - $2,700 based on teaching artist experience and commitment level
