We are seeking short (10–30) minute plays inspired by Shakespeare’s works, written by trans playwrights and/or featuring trans characters. These can be direct adaptations, more abstract reimaginings, or pieces about Shakespeare that don't directly adapt any plays. Selected works will be compiled into roughly an hour-long show to be presented at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, as a joint billing. The format will be a staged reading, or very minimalistic staging.
You don't need to have a completed script, pitches and drafts are welcome, as are more experimental pieces!
These submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged. The deadline for pitches or drafts is June 15th, and the deadline for completed scripts is June 25th. Fill out this form to apply!
If you're interested in this project, but you aren't a playwright or don't wish to submit a piece, you can fill out this general interest form, and we'll get back to you. SMs/ASMs, administrators, directors, designer, technicians, and actors all welcome!
