Philly Children's Theatre is looking for individuals who want to devise, and collaborate! Looking for strong movers, puppeteers, and performers interested in this type of work! Theatre for the Very Young is theatre geared for ages 1-7 years old.
We will only be casting adults 18+ and will be casting 3-4 performers (one swing to cover the tracks).
The play will be a devised 25-30 minute show that goes under the sea and is immersive/interactive.
Commitment: Rehearsals begin on Feb 1st. Rehearsals are on Saturday's from 11-4 PM at the Please Touch Museum and Tuesday evenings from 7:15-10 PM at Urban Movement Arts (2100 Chestnut).
Additional rehearsals outside of these times are on Feb 6th and Feb 7th from 7:15-10 PM and Feb 9th from 11-4 PM.
Roughly three workshops with families and children to test out material throughout the rehearsal process at the Please Touch Museum (during rehearsal times).
Performances: The show will open on April 2nd with shows at 5 PM and 6 PM. All other shows will be on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) running until April 27th. Shows mostly at 1 PM and 2:30 PM (one day of shows may be earlier due to special events at Please Touch Museum). Show runs from April 2nd to April 27th. All shows will be performed at the Please Touch Museum.
