Indecorous Theatre is looking for 2 Non-union BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ actors for an immersive production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

This will be an outdoor immersive production at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education in Roxborough, where actors will lead the audience through the woods from scene to scene of the play.

Keep in mind this will be a somewhat physically demanding production as actors will be on their feet in the actual woods. Improv and audience interaction experience are a plus but not required. 

Roles Open to be Cast: (In all cases, your gender does not necessarily need to match the gender of the character; however you do need to be comfortable, capable, and confident portraying that gender to be considered)

HERMIA- A young woman in a sapphic relationship with Lysander, forbidden by her father. She is very smart, outspoken, teasing and playful with a bit of repressed horniness thrown in the mix. She WILL fight you if necessary.

DEMETRIUS- A young man from a rich conservative family. Uptight, sarcastic, and VERY sexually repressed. Previously in a queer relationship with Helena, but ended it because of pressure from his family. Trying desperately to convince himself he want to be with Hermia, but yearns for Helena deep down while simultaneously pushing him away. 

NOTE: all other roles have already been cast

Rehearsals: will be 3 evenings a week (exact days TBD) from May 17th- July 5th (Tech week July 6-10th)

Performances: will be 7/11 (7pm), 7/12 (1pm and 7pm), 7/18 (7pm), 7/19 (7pm), and 7/20th (1pm). Rain Date 7/25 (7pm) at The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education

Pay: Actors will each receive 4% of ticket sales 

Auditions will be by video submission due Sunday March 30th by 11:59pm.

Callbacks will be held in person MON APRIL 7th by invitation only, slots starting at 7pm
