SHOW DESCRIPTION:
It is 1921, and Lord Thurston believes it would be "a very great mischief" to inform women that queerness is not only a male pastime – little does he know his daughter, Roxane, has already given her heart to a Miss Christine Granville. Or... has she?
This sapphic, high-comedy adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac is written by trans playwright Laura Anthony and inspired by the true story of a resolution to add "acts of indecency by females" to then already-extant buggery laws of Great Britain. A comedy of errors jam-packed with crossdressing, longing, and queerness, Queerano, or A Very Great Mischief has delighted audiences in NYC, New Zealand, the UK, and beyond.
Note: This play contains scenes of explicit language and sexual situations. All casting will be color-conscious. Gender presentations for characters have been noted on roles, and production welcomes those of any identity to audition.
