The Hill School is seeking a skilled Theatrical Carpenter to join our team for the upcoming production of "Carrie: The Musical." This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic theatrical experience while working alongside talented high school students and production team at a prestigious boarding school.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the production team to construct scenic elements in accordance with the vision of the director and designer.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and that work meets professional standards.
  • Mentor and lead high school students in safe and effective building techniques.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive work environment, fostering creativity and teamwork.
  • Assist with load-in and strike of the set, ensuring all materials are managed appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a carpenter in a professional theatrical setting or comparable experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Safe operation and knowledge of hand and power tools as well as typical woodshop equipment.
  • Work with wood, metals, plastics and other materials to build and/or repair scenic elements.
  • Ability to read shop and construction drawings.

Proposed build dates: 11/20/24 thru 12/18 (with possibility of extension)

Salary
