SideQuest Theater is holding auditions for our August mainstage show, and we'd love to see you there!

You will be auditioning for the director, Michael Weingartner, as well as a combination of the SideQuest leadership including Josh Holober-Ward, Dom Arp, and/or Kelsey Hébert. Other people in the room may include Asst. Dir., Aaron Jones, and Joey Tucker. --- Audition format & any other audition auditors will be included in a pre-audition email to be sent ahead of your time slot.
About the show: AstroQuest is an unscripted science-fiction adventure show combining elements of narrative improv, physical theater, puppetry, and tabletop roleplaying games. Inspired by classics like Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, and Guardians of the Galaxy, each performance will follow a crew of brave explorers working for the intrepid Astro Alliance as they embark on a new mission to explore strange planets, meet zany aliens, and save the galaxy.
Seeking: We are seeking an ensemble of 8-10 performers with a knack for adventurous storytelling, creative character work, and embracing ridiculous situations. All improvisers, actors, devisers, puppeteers, and other performance artists are encouraged to apply.
SideQuest Theater values diversity in the workplace and in creative spaces, and prohibits discrimination. Actors of all backgrounds are encouraged to audition.
Director: Michael Weingartner (he/him) is an improviser, writer, and TTRPG enthusiast. He is a member of Roll Play at SideQuest and is the creator of hit Philadelphia improv shows such as Objection, The Improv Double Feature, and 3-2-1, as well as SideQuest's horror TTRPG show, Roll Play: Dread, and the live comedy game show, Think Fast! He was also a producer and head writer for the news comedy television show, Minnesota Tonight.
Assistant Director: Aaron "Jonesy" Jones - has performed in a number of SideQuest Theater's productions; Fellowship!, Odd At Sea and Roll Play. Previously a stand-up comedian in Philly and current owner of a dog named "Radish". Jonesy GMs many Tabletop RPGs and has a great passion for stories and storytelling. Lover of all things horror, sci-fi and fantasy, they are grateful to be working on AstroQuest!

Audition, Rehearsal, and Performance areas are on an accessible stage for individuals capable of traversing small edges. The green room area is inaccessible for individuals who cannot traverse steep steps. Accommodations will be made as needed for privacy and comfort for all individuals involved in the production.
