Four offerings. Four ways to come back to your craft. Whether you're returning to practice, starting fresh, or exploring something new entirely, Broken Mirror is here for you!
Below are this summer season’s courses and opportunities!
Chekhov & the Non-Dominant Approach (5 weeks)
Aug 5th - Sept 2nd, Tuesdays · 6:00–9:00pm
Back by popular demand! This 5-week course is for actors who have previously trained in the Non-Dominant Approach and who want to re-engage with scene work through the vivid, human, and deeply layered world of Anton Chekhov.
Intro to The Non-Dominant Actor: Scene Study (5 weeks)
Aug 6th - Sept 3rd, Wednesdays · 7:00pm–10:00pm
Based on Ben Mathes' innovative approach, this course invites actors to shed the shackles of control and embrace a creative equilibrium with character and storytelling. Dive deep into scene work and monologues while exploring your unique relationship to the artistic process. If you seek an alternative path to character creation and embodiment, this pedagogy-based course is a wonderful path to a more liberated and authentic acting practice.
Intro Mask Workshop: Somatic Jam
August 30th · 11:00am–3:00pm
This one-day intensive is rooted in the Brahe Mask Method — a somatic, body-led practice shaped by Balinese mask tradition and the Chekhov technique. Whether this is your first time in the mask or a return visit, this jam is a chance to move honestly, listen deeply, and express without agenda. Come curious. Leave changed.
