TONYA- King's wife of a few years. Thirties. Black.
RUBY- King mother, former big band singer who recently moved back to Pittsburgh. Sixtes. Black.
MISTER- Kings best friend since greade school and sometimes business partner. Thirties. Black.
ELMORE- Ruby's longtime, but sporadic flame. A professional Hustler. Sixties. Black
STOOL PIGEON- King's next-door neighbor. The Hills’s spiritual and practical truthsayer. Late sixties. Black
