Get It Together by Michael Quinn tells the story of Mary Hewitt, an aspiring poet from Philadelphia on the cusp of her life, as she falls for and rages against Harold Kruger, her Main Line paramour she just can't figure out. Set across two nights two years apart, the comedy follows the pair through heartbreak, grief, and anxious desire as they question: What the hell is wrong with my family? Do cheaters ever quit? And who will understand me, if not you?
Michael Quinn is a writer born in Philadelphia. His play GET IT TOGETHER opened at the Flea Theater in New York in November, 2024. His play THE RIVER EAST was shortlisted for the 2024 Yale Drama Series Prize, and his play JANIE / BASIL was shortlisted for the Druid Debuts 2024 at the Druid Theatre in Galway, Ireland. His poetry has been published in Carve Magazine, Rust + Moth and the Chiron Review. He lives in Pennsylvania.
The play arrived at the Flea Theater in New York in November, 2024, by way of a 2022 Los Angeles production at the Zephyr Theatre. The two week limited engagement saw seven of ten shows sold-out, with overall 90% tickets sold. The design team included Lily Guerin (Yale Drama) and Lisa Zinni (Six, Rent, Freestyle Love Supreme).
We are looking for actors to submit a video for one of the two roles in the production:
MARY HEWITT • 19-21 (woman)
Thoughtful, aggrieved, artistic. From the script –– "She still feels occasional flashes of the quieter, sadder person she used to be –– and as a result doubles down on a newfound harshness."
HAROLD KRUGER • 20-22 (man)
Fuckboy, bro-y with a heart, yearning. "He enjoys following things through for the sake of the experience, even if that means bearing the resulting distress and gentle numbness that has grown over time."
