Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Front of House / Box Office Associate to join our touring team. This role is central to the audience experience and involves both customer-facing responsibilities and hands-on production support.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House & Audience Services
- Greet and assist patrons upon arrival
- Manage audience flow before, during, and after performances
- Usher patrons to seating and support accessibility needs
- Serve as a point of contact for audience questions or concerns
- Maintain a welcoming, professional atmosphere in a fast paced environment
Box Office & Ticketing
- Sell and distribute tickets (cash and digital transactions)
- Check in guests using ticketing systems
- Manage will-call and door sales
- Balance and reconcile ticket sales at the end of performances
- Communicate clearly with stage management and production staff regarding house status
Production & Venue Support
- Assist with room setup and breakdown before and after performances
- Help prepare audience areas to meet production standards
- Support on-site operational needs as assigned
Media & Documentation
- Capture photos and short video clips during rehearsals and performances for marketing and media use (using company guidelines)
Touring & Schedule Requirements
- Touring includes out-of-town weekend travel Friday through Monday
- Transportation and housing for weekend trips are included as part of compensation
- Availability for evenings and weekends is required
Compensation
- $100–$200 per performance, based on experience and responsibilities
- Two to four performances per weekend, depending on the production and venue
- Transportation and housing provided for weekend touring engagements
Preferred Qualifications
- Restaurant host stand or hospitality experience strongly preferred
- Prior front-of-house, box office, or customer service experience a plus
- Comfortable handling money and basic technology
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a fast paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with light physical tasks
