Forum Theatre Philly Workshop Series – Free for Adults Impacted by Incarceration

Are you a returned citizen or someone impacted by incarceration? Join us for a free 9-week theatre workshop focused on using performance to explore important social issues. In this session, we’ll work together to devise a Forum Theatre piece that addresses gun violence in our communities. This program is a space for creative expression, dialogue, and empowerment through theatre. 

What is Forum Theatre? Forum Theatre is an interactive theatre technique that empowers participants and audiences to explore real-life situations and propose solutions, fostering dialogue and action for social change.

Who Should Apply:

  • Adults impacted by incarceration in any capacity.
  • Returned citizens are strongly encouraged to participate.

Program Details:

  • Duration: 9 weeks
  • When: Oct. 18th - Dec. 20th (excludes Black Friday, Nov. 28th)
  • Commitment: 2 hours per week
  • Location: Institute for Community Justice (ICJ)
    1207 Chestnut St 2nd floor, Philadelphia, PA 19107

By participating, you will learn acting techniques, do creative writing, create scenes, and contribute to a final performance. No prior theatre experience is necessary.
