The Media Theatre, an award-winning, non-profit 501c3 professional theatre company, is seeking candidates for the full time position of Engagement Manager. 

DESCRIPTION

The Engagement Manager serves as the senior staff member who oversees all aspects of the marketing and front of house departments and the financial responsibilities associated with them. Serves as the leader for ushers, box office and concessions staff members to best serve the audiences who come through the door, and is the staff member who is ensuring a hospitable, smooth and efficient guest relation experience via phone, in-person transactions and email. Hires appropriate Box Office associates, coordinates ushers for events, and concessions staff. 

DUTIES

  • Guest Services & Front of House
    • Act as the primary staff liaison for guest services, ensuring a welcoming, efficient, and safe audience experience.
    • Coordinate and staff all front of house roles for events (ushers, concessions, box office).
    • Resolve ticketing or seating issues; respond to general inquiries and patron needs.
    • Maintain clean, stocked public spaces; oversee incident reports and emergency procedures.
    • Ensure proper training, attire, and conduct of all guest-facing staff and volunteers.
    • Utilize the LEAP PatronManager software service (SalesForce) and maintain an administrator level role and knowledge of its offerings.

  • Marketing & Communications
    • Develop strategic marketing plans including social media, digital content, subscription models, and targeted campaigns and collaborate with the Executive Artistic Director and applicable Marketing employees on the execution. 
    • Design or delegate creation of promotional materials and email campaigns; maintain website content.
    • Collaborate on programming decisions and support donor/sponsorship recognition per policy.
  • Financial & Administrative Duties
    • Oversee box office cash flow, concessions sales, and donor acknowledgments.
    • Track inventory, reconcile daily sales, and submit deposits.
    • Maintain records of invoices, expenses, and reimbursements.
    • Utilize and stay trained on relevant software (PatronManager/LEAP, email marketing platforms).
  • Collaboration & Availability
    • Work closely with the Executive Artistic Director, Bookkeeper, and Social Media Marketing team
    • Attend staff meetings and maintain availability during theatre hours and events.
    • Be onsite for shows/events, ensuring operations run smoothly and buildings are secured after use.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position is expected to maintain a presence at all events offered, including but not limited to: Broadway Series, Youth Ensemble Series, Rental events, etc. Shift schedule varies, but nights and weekends mostly available are a requirement. 
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of office software, especially Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, and Zoom.
  • Knowledge of PatronManager(LEAP) a plus, though extensive training will be included.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

TIMELINE & COMPENSATION & HOURS

The deadline for submissions is Friday, August 15. Ideal candidates are available to begin near or around September 1, though the start date is flexible. The anticipated compensation is between $38,000 - $42,000 per year, commensurate with experience. This is a full time position that will require nights & weekends available, between 30-40 hours per week, but fluctuates with the calendar.
