InterAct Theatre Company seeks to expand our team with this 32-hr/wk position of Development Manager.

InterAct is a mid-size nonprofit theatre company. Our mission is to produce new plays that engage with the social, political and cultural issues of our time and to improve the climate for new plays regionally. Over our 38-year history, we’ve cultivated a loyal base of patrons, funders and donors who are almost as passionate about our work as we are.

We’re seeking a development generalist to help manage and execute the various facets of our fundraising plan. This position reports to the Managing Director and will work closely with the entire InterAct team.

The primary duties of this position are:

  • Managing and helping to execute our Development Plan, keeping donor files up-to-date in our CRM and guiding the theatre toward our development goals
  • Individual Giving / Annual Fund – write and execute appeals/mailings, gift processing, acknowledgements. Track Honorary Producer communications.
  • Major Donors – track major donor readiness, set appointments for executive leadership
  • Grants – Manage grants calendar and work with the Producing Artistic Director and the Managing Director to write and submit grants and grant reports in a timely manner. Research new grant opportunities.
  • Corporate – manage communication with a small number of corporate donors
  • Events – organize and help execute small events (e.g. Season Announcement event)
  • Work with the Board on occasional fundraising activities
  • Work closely with the rest of the InterAct team to raise the profile of the company

Important Things to Know

  • InterAct uses the following software: AudienceView Pro (formerly OvationTix) for CRM (ticketing & development); MailChimp (patron communication); Squarespace (website); Adobe Creative Cloud (design); Microsoft Office (administration); Dropbox; Google Drive; AirTable. Knowledge of these programs or ability to learn them is important.
  • Evenings and weekends as well as scheduling flexibility may be required.
  • Theatre background and excitement about our mission are big pluses.

Start date To be negotiated with selected candidate

Salary

$39,000/yr - 32 hrs/wk plus medical/vision/dental insurance
