About NextGen:
NextGen is a process driven workshop for children ages 5-18 that provides high quality theatre arts education and cultivates a safe, nurturing environment for children to find confidence in themselves and build community with each other, through classes and productions
Job Description:
NextGen seeks a costumer for our production of 42nd Street. The costumer will be responsible for pulling/shopping/building all looks for a cast of approximately 65 students in 5th-12th grade. Costumer will be responsible for training the cast/crew for any quick changes.
Must have transportation to the Wallingford-Swarthmore area to do fittings during rehearsals on Saturday’s and/or Tuesday-Thursday afternoons.
Prelim design presentation tentatively scheduled for January 8th, 2026
Final designs due for approval on March 1st, 2026
Costume Parade tentatively scheduled for May 17th.
Tech rehearsals are the week of May 17th, 2026.
Final performance is scheduled for June 1st, 2026.
Costumer would be responsible for returning and borrowed or rented costumes and returning costumes to NextGen storage.
Ideal candidates will have a passion for working with children and have previous experience working with children and is someone who is comfortable working independently within a budget. The candidate will report to the Producer. Candidate must have their PA and Federal clearances up to date, any cost associated with it will reimbursed by NextGen
