The Kammerspiel is casting non-equity actors for Tartuffe by Molière, a new version by Bob Sloan, to run for three weeks at Performance Garage: February 20th, 21st and 22nd; February 27th, 28th, and March 1st; and March 6th, 7th, and 8th. Extensive rehearsals will begin in early January, with 2-3 meetings in December, depending on availability. Seeking actors of all ages and backgrounds, who enjoy heightened language and creative physicality, for the following roles:
Orgon - A Rich Guy
Madame Pernelle - Orgon’s Mother (doubled with Tartuffe)
Damis - Orgon’s Older Daughter
Elmire - Orgon’s Second Wife
Mariane - Orgon’s Younger Daughter
Dorine - The Maid
Cléante - Orgon’s Sister-in-law
Tartuffe - A Righteous Man
Valere - Mariane’s Beloved
We will contact those we wish to audition. Those auditioning will be asked to read for 2-3 roles, we are less interested in matching a performer to a certain part than in creating the best pool of actors we can. You do need to have acting experience, and we are generally looking for actors 24 and up. You do not need to have a background in Molière or Shakespeare or other classical plays. We are looking for a wide range of styles.
The Kammerspiel creates commercially non-viable productions that are subversive and sublime.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, November 16th—and, if necessary, Tuesday, November 18th—with sides from the play. Sides and exact audition location will be provided. Please send a headshot and resume to director Josh McIlvain at [email protected].
