Casting for a Revolutionary War-period short for museum exhibition. This short film dramatizes General George Washington's strategy session the night before the pivotal Battle of Princeton. Set and shown entirely within Trenton's historic Douglass House, a preserved 18th-century structure that served as Washington's real-life headquarters on the eve of the battle.

  1. Billy Lee (1 day - July 18) - This role portrays George Washington’s enslaved servant. This role is non-speaking, but is critical in illustrating the fundamental hypocrisy of a revolution grounded in the belief that “all men are created equal”. *For this application, please just submit your acting reel. 

     

    Male; Black; Age 20-30 
     

  2. Patrick Lamb (2 days - July 18 & 19) - A local militiaman who is better able to see the nuance of the situation than any other character. The moral backbone of the film. Is called on by Washington for his knowledge of the local terrain.

     

    Male; White; Age 18-30
     

  3. Alexander Douglass (2 days - July 18 & 19) - Our embodied ‘common man’ who represents the black and white views of the revolution we hold to this day. Demonstrates a wide range from chatty and fun, to brooding and standoffish, to earnestly apologetic.

     

    Male; White; Age 40-50
     

  4. General Mercer (2 days - July 18 & 19) - General Mercer is a fierce advocate for pressing forward and attacking the British to keep up the morale of the troops while other generals in the group argue for a retreat to keep the troops safe. 

     

    Male; White; Age 40-50
     

  5. General Henry Knox (1 day - July 19) - Washington’s artillery man. Knox is large and boisterous, delivering both humor and setting the stage for the war council.  

     

    Male; White; Physically large - 6’3” and substantial; Age: 26-34
