Seeking DONNIE (40's, African American). This role requires an onstage kiss with another man. Donnie is a professional music critic in New York. Donnie and his husband, Adam, have differing ideas about their future. Adam wants to remain young and free, while Donnie desires a more stable, family-oriented life, creating tension within their relationship.
Seeking SHELLY (45, African American). Single mother and public defender. The primary caregiver to her mother, Dotty, who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. As the eldest sibling, Shelly embodies the overwhelmed, resentful, and frayed family member who has taken on the bulk of the responsibility for her declining parent. Her role is a dramatic lynchpin, driving much of the conflict and emotional tension in the play.
The first rehearsal is September 29th, with rehearsals running some weeknights and weekends through the opening on November 7, 2025. The director sets rehearsals at the first read-through. The play runs Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 PM and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 PM through Nov 23, 2025. There are no 2-show days. (9 total performances)
