The Ritz Theatre Company is currently seeking a diverse and dynamic cast of local, non-union artists for our upcoming production of GOLDILOCKS AND THE HOUSE OF GINGER. All performers will receive a small stipend between $150-$250. Below you will find audition details and a character breakdown.
AUDITION PROCESS:
1st Round: Send headshot, resume, and a self-tape of you singing a 32 bar cut of a comedic song to [email protected] by Wednesday, September 3 @ 5:00pm. Use the subject line “GOLDILOCKS” to submit.|
2nd Round: Callbacks by invitation only, at The Ritz, on Monday, September 8, beginning at 6PM
3rd Round: Callbacks by invitation only, at The Ritz, on Wednesday, September 10, beginning at 6PM
REHEARSALS: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday evenings beginning September 21
SHOW RUN: December 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 17, 19, 20, 21
SYNOPSIS: British Pantomime, a celebrated Christmas tradition of our new works initiative, takes the stage again with Goldilocks and the House of Ginger. From the zany brains of Bruce Curless and Brian Bacon, this original musical is chock full of bawdy humor and Christmas cheer! Join us as a new grouping of reimagined fairytale characters joke, sing, and dance their way into your heart in this imaginative story unlike anything else you’ll see this holiday season.
CHARACTERS: Please note: All characters are patterned after stock characters from British Pantomime.
The Dame: Hecate (30-50) a witch and owner of The Gingerbread House.
The Ingenue: Goldilocks (18-25) of “this one is just right” fame.
The Juvenile: Hansel (18-25) of Hansel and Gretel lore.
The Juvenile: Gretel (18-25) of Hansel and Gretel lore.
Clown/Animal: Papa Bear (30-50) of the infamous Three Bears.
Clown/Animal: Momma Bear (30-50) of the infamous Three Bears.
Clown/Animal: Baby Bear (18-25) of the infamous Three Bears.
The Pantomime Fairy: Fairy Godmother (30-50) the Mother of Hansel and Gretel, the Mysterious Man, and The Voice.
The Villain: Sheriff (30-50) of Nottingham Forest.
