JHU Theatre is searching for a dedicated theatre artist and teacher, someone interested in participating in our academic program while continuing to be active as a professional dramatist and playmaker.
· 1 year appointment, with potential for renewal
· Full-time Lecturer ($50,000 – $98,500) or Senior Lecturer ($54,500 – $100,500) with benefits
· 3 courses per year
· For the academic year 25-26
· Appointment in Theatre Arts and Studies, with affiliation with The Writing Seminars
We offer a conservatory-style curriculum and theatre minor to undergraduates at JHU. In addition to theatre courses, we produce two mainstage productions per year, and several smaller performances. The Artist in Residence would teach two playwriting classes, cross-listed with The Writing Seminars. There would also be opportunity to teach acting or another course in their areas of interest. Outside of the classroom, the Artist in Residence could contribute to productions, work with student groups, and find creative ways to share their theatre expertise with our dedicated and pluralist student body. Qualifications:
· Active playwright and playmaker
· Experienced teacher at the college level or equivalent
· MFA preferred, or significant professional experience
