THE MEDIA THEATRE is seeking Equity (AEA) Assistant Stage Manager submissions for the upcoming 2025 production of GREASE. The Media Theatre is a LOA in reference to LORT. As a pre-condition of employment it is required to have the requisite clearances for criminal and child abuse clearances from the State Police, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, and the FBI.

GREASE

First Rehearsal: April 14, 2025

Tech: April 25-27, 2025

Previews: April 30 & May 1, 2025

Opening: May 2, 2025

Closing: May 25, 2025

Rehearsals are held typically Mon-Sat from 10a-4p with Sundays off. Performances are typically 5-7 shows per week from Wednesday -Sunday, with a slightly varied performance schedule of:

Wednesdays 2pm, Thursdays 7pm, Fridays 7pm, Saturdays 2 & 7pm, Sundays 3pm.

Candidates must be available for all or most of the above list schedule. Local housing not provided.

EXPECTATIONS

  • SM Prep in regards to paperwork, stage setup and prop/furniture sorting
  • Sweeping, setting up props, and ensuring the stage area is safe
  • Tracking attendance
  • Notating blocking
  • Being on-book
  • Provide support to the Production Stage Manager in rehearsals & performances
  • Run the deck during tech rehearsals and performances alongside IATSE deck crew
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
  • Participate in production meetings and events as required
  • Build and maintage backstage paperwork through the production, including run sheets

QUALIFICATIONS/QUALITIES

  • Experience working with people and management of crews
  • Experience maintaining SM scripts
  • Attention to detail
  • A sense of timing and accuracy of work
  • Team player with good problem-solving and time management skills
  • Experience working on musicals preferred
  • Must be available to work 6 days per week onsite per the conditions of the AEA contract.
  • Must be comfortable with physical activity, including but not limited to walking, standing, lift of up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be comfortable with varying work environments, including but not limited to quiet and loud spaces.
