People’s Light – Raisin in the Sun YOUTH Audition

Location: People’s Light, Congdon Center, 39 Conestoga Road Malvern, PA 19355
People’s Light is a professional theatre located in Malvern, PA. Youth Actors will work under a PA minor’s entertainment permit. The families are responsible for transportation to and from rehearsals and performances. Rehearsals and performances are Tuesday through Sunday. Youth Actors will need to miss some school for technical rehearsals and 10am performances. There are 8 to 9 performances a week with Monday as the day off. The role of Travis will be double cast as to lighten the schedule for the Youth Actors.

TRAVIS YOUNGER – Black. Character’s pronouns: he/him. 8-12 yrs.
Travis Younger is the youngest child of Walter and Ruth Younger. Travis is around 10 or 11 years old and is described as a "sturdy, handsome" boy. He is optimistic, happy, and good-natured, and he enjoys spending his free time playing with other children in the neighborhood.

All actors auditioning will need to prepare the side linked HERE. The actor does not need to be memorized but should be familiar enough to receive direction and work with the director.
