The Walnut Street Theatre is looking for it's next group of Apprentices to learn and grow through our 2025-2026 season!
For more than 25 years, the Walnut Street Theatre's Professional Apprentice Program has provided training ground for early career professionals to bridge the gap between education and the professional world. It provides hands-on experience working alongside professionals in one specific, concentrated area. The program is designed to provide a season of intensive education and work experience in one of several aspects of theatre operation.
Areas of offered apprenticeships include: Acting, Carpentry, Costumes, Development, Education, Marketing, Production Management, Prop Management, Props, Scenic Painting, Stage Crew, Stage Management, Technical Direction/Shop Management, Ticketing Services, and Wigs/Wardrobe
Apprentices receive a full scholarship to be in the program and a weekly stipend of $500 to assist with personal expenses associated with participation. Additionally, they receive tickets to all opening nights, and unlimited WST Theatre Classes through the duration of their Apprenticeship!
Housing is not provided, though we do offer assistance finding housing and connection with other apprentices for rooming opportunities.
Terms of scholarship vary dependent on department, but may begin as early as April 2025 and end as late as June 2026.
