Looking for organized, responsible, assertive, motivated individuals to fill the role of Shop Mechanics in a fast-paced theatrical fabrication shop. Applicants must function well as part of a team and have very effective organizational and communications skills. Custom Fabrication Experience a plus. Professionals only, no hobbyists, please. Work week is 40 hours minimum. Applicants must be available to work a varied schedule which may include weekends. Starting salary is commensurate upon experience, attitude and commitment.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills, inventory management, and personnel management.
- Highly motivated Mechanic with experience using construction and industrial equipment.
- Able to read and understand blueprints/construction drawings.
- Able to maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced Environment.
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining Shop Equipment.
- Heavy-Lifting required at times. (80-100lbs)
- Activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, and other small parts.
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Applicants must be reliable and available to work on Saturdays and some Evenings.
Skills not Required, but Preferred: (Training Available)
- Working Knowledge of Electronics, Electrical Components, and Troubleshooting Skills
- Working Knowledge of LED Lighting, General Wiring
- Understanding of Mechanical Systems, Motors
- Welding and Metal Fabrication
