The Walnut Street Theatre is seeking early career professionals to apply for our professional apprenticeship program.

Walnut Street Theatre's Professional Apprentice Program provides a training ground for early career professionals to bridge the gap between education and the professional world. The program is designed to provide a season of intensive education and work experience in one of several aspects of theatre operation.

For more than 35 years, the Walnut’s Apprentice Program has provided training to young theatre professionals. The Walnut produces 5 mainstage productions and a season of Kids Series in our 1,078 seat theater, with nearly 50,000 season subscribers. Apprentices are an important and vital part of the operation of our theater. The program is a full-time commitment with a weekly scholarship of $500 and free tuition to Theatre School classes. Terms of scholarships vary but may begin as early as April 2024 and end by May 2025. Acting Apprenticeship auditions will be in person in early May. If invited to audition, attendance is mandatory.
