Philly Children's Theatre is seeking performers (18+) and a stage manager for our second annual original TYA sensory theatre production.
Sensory theatre is a form of theatre using the five senses to tell a story in a fully interactive and participatory way! This show will be geared for children with disabilities and their families. However, all children would enjoy this sensory, interactive, participatory show!
Commitment: Rehearsals will run in the evenings of Monday (8-10 PM), Wednesday (7-10 PM), some Thursdays (8-10), and some Saturday evening rehearsals (about 2 a month from 5-9 PM) in Center City at Music Theatre Philly. The first rehearsal is January 17th.
Performances on Saturday's and Sunday's starting April 6th to May 5th. Performances during the weekday are on April 3rd at 5 PM, April 11th at 5:30 PM, and April 17th at 5:30 PM. The show will be touring all over the city of Philadelphia having a wide reach with various partner organizations. We tour the show to parks, museums, homeless shelters, schools, and community centers all on a pay-what-you-can ticket basis with the goal to expand access to the arts for families across the city. We will not perform more than two shows in a day.
