Seeking actors for "The Ghost Gives Up: A Farce in One Act," a student film adaptation of a short play published in 1930. The play will be performed as if on a stage, with three cameras documenting.
Logline: A man swears on his daughter’s future that his formula guarantees life after death.
Synopsis: Having discovered a mathematical formula that, when spoken aloud, grants the speaker an afterlife, Jonathan places a bet: If his friend Alastair does not return to their gathering after shooting himself, his daughter, Daphne, will live happily ever after with his enemy, David. When Alastair returns to show off the experiment's success, he is visible to the audience but not to his friends, leaving Jonathan distraught and Daphne and David elated. Alastair's enthusiasm deflates at the uselessness of his new eternal life.
OPEN ROLES:
To be rehearsed and performed for cameras on November 23rd and 24th at Bryn Mawr College.
