InterAct Theatre Company seeks to expand our team with the full-time position of Production & Venue Manager

InterAct is a mid-size nonprofit theatre company. Our mission is to produce new plays that engage with the social, political and cultural issues of our time and to improve the climate for new plays regionally. We produce a main stage season of four plays between October and June, operating under a Small Professional Theatre Contract with Actors Equity Association. We also run The Drake, a venue with two performance spaces that are both available for rentals.

We need someone who wants to help us manage our productions and maintain and improve our facility so it can continue to provide an exceptional space for our patrons and renters.

Major responsibilities will include: (1) Coordinating technical aspects of productions, including the hiring, contracting and oversight of all technicians; (2) Scheduling and running production & design meetings; (3) Managing production budgets; (4) Coordinating load-ins, technical rehearsals and strikes; (5) Maintaining the inventories and facilitating purchasing of all technical theatre equipment; (6) Maintaining fluency in, and training others on the set-up and operation of all technical theatre equipment; (7) Coordinating maintenance and improvements of all facilities; (8) Overseeing all aspects of theatre rentals, including tours for prospective renters, contracting, scheduling, reviewing technical operations and tracking inventory.

Important Things to Know:

  • InterAct uses a variety of software. Comfort with computers and familiarity with technical theatre equipment is important. A working knowledge of VectorWorks as well as Microsoft Office, Google Drive and Dropbox is helpful.
  • Employment at InterAct requires full vaccination against COVID-19 as defined by the CDC.
  • This position requires the ability to move between spaces and to carry/transport items up to 50 lbs.
  • Evenings and weekends as well as scheduling flexibility are required.
  • Anticipated start date March 13 (negotiable)
