Walnut Street Theatre, America’s Oldest Theatre, is seeking experienced and knowledgeable costume dressers for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. WST produces a five-show main stage season consisting of three musicals and two straight plays, various children’s shows, as well as educational outreach tours.
Primary responsibilities include: serve as a member of the wardrobe run crew during load-in, tech, performances, and strike; generate functional tracking sheets; set up and maintain backstage wardrobe areas; coordinate care and maintenance of all costume pieces including sewing, ironing, steaming, and laundry.
Ideal candidate is self-motivated, team-oriented, and highly collaborative; ability to climb several flights of stairs and carry up to 50 lbs. is required. Experience with wigs and/or industrial sewing machines is beneficial, but not necessary.
This seasonal hourly position is eligible for overtime and requires night and weekend hours on a standard performance schedule. Begins September 2023. Positions will continue to be filled throughout the season, on a rolling basis. Equal opportunity employer.
