Costume Designer for MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET / and additional Wardrobe positions

The Media Theatre is seeking applicants for COSTUME DESIGNER for their upcoming production of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET. Additionally seeking other Wardrobe positions (Wardrobe Associate & Stage Dresser) for immediate need and future productions.

COSTUME DESIGNER

Seeking an experienced Costume Designer for MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET and future productions. The Media Theatre is a LOA in reference to LORT. Stipend designer fee with possible additional hourly rates.  As a pre-condition of employment it is required to have the requisite clearances for criminal and child abuse clearances from the State Police, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, and the FBI. We required that all company and production staff are fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 based on the CDC vaccination guideline and the Media Theatre’s requirement to be a fully vaccinated company.

Expected duties include (but not limited to):

• Provide a design within budget and time constraints.
• Attend all Production Meetings either in person or via Zoom.
• Collaborate with the Director & Technical Director on all pre-production concepts.
• Mandatory attendance to Designer Run.
• Report to the Technical Director/Production Manager the intended vision.
• Work with the given materials and advise Production Team and Technical Director on    appropriate avenues of achieving additional resources.
• Attend all scheduled technical rehearsals.
• Collaborate with Director of each production in creating a cohesive design before rehearsals    begin.
• Create a comprehensive schedule and responsibility delegation of required work (Pulling from stock, purchasing, building, etc.)
• Ability to adapt to a varied schedule
• Proficiency in software including but not limited to:

   

  Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel

WARDROBE ASSOCIATE

Seeking experienced Wardrobe Associate for immediate need and for the upcoming Summer Season, as well as our next 2023-2024 season. Positions available for each production with options to apply/continue on multiple productions. The Media Theatre is a LOA in reference to LORT. Contractual IATSE union hourly pay rate.  Additionally, supplies, mileage, and laundry expenses will be provided or paid in advance. We required that all company and production staff are fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 based on the CDC vaccination guideline and the Media Theatre’s requirement to be a fully vaccinated company.

• Attend all Production Meetings either in person or via Zoom if necessary.
• Collaborate with the Costume Designer & Technical Director as necessary.
• Mandatory attendance to Designer Run.
• Ability to properly launder costumes- On or Off Site.
• Have attention to detail. 
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Ability to adapt to a varied schedule.
• Posses a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• Ability to drop off and pick up dry cleaning in a timely manner.
• Wig maintenance experience is a plus and not required. If experienced, additional compensation will apply.
• Sewing and Stitchery skills are a plus. If experienced, additional compensation will apply.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• IATSE membership is not required to apply.  Membership will begin after 30 days of employment.

STAGE DRESSER

Seeking experienced Wardrobe Associate for immediate need and for the upcoming Summer Season, as well as our next 2023-2024 season. Positions available for each production with options to apply/continue on multiple productions. The Media Theatre is a LOA in reference to LORT. Contractual IATSE hourly rate. We required that all company and production staff are fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 based on the CDC vaccination guideline and the Media Theatre’s requirement to be a fully vaccinated company.

 

• Experience with stage quick changes and dressing men, women, and children.
• Attend all Production Meetings either in person or via Zoom if necessary.
• Collaborate with the Costume Designer, Technical Director, and Stage Management on all production needs.
• Mandatory attendance to Designer Run and all technical rehearsals.
• Mandatory attendance to all performances.
• Basic costume repair skill a plus.
• Costume care maintenance skills are required.
• Ability to physically bend and squat rapidly.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
• Ability to perform changes with consistency and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• IATSE membership not required to apply.  Membership will begin after 30 days of employment.
