Yes! And…Collaborative Arts’ Summer Sort of Thing (SSOT) Camp gives kids in 6th-12th grade the opportunity to be part of an original musical production with professional theater artists! Like all of our programs at Yes! And…, SSOT is focused on process instead of product. We treat our young cast members with the same respect we would treat adult artists, while acknowledging their limits and always keeping their growth and development as people and collaborators a priority while making art with them. We focus on the needs and trajectories of each individual child, and work to create a challenging, fulfilling, and welcoming experience for every kid.
An ideal candidate for this position loves working with/instructing/uplifting kids all while remembering to embrace moments of creativity and silliness! The Choreographer/Movement Artist Teacher will be expected to prepare and teach choreography for the production, lead students through movement warm-ups and skill building classes, and participate fully in other camp day activities.
The program runs July 5th until July 28th with performances from July 26th-28th. Staff will be expected to attend Monday - Friday from 8:15am-4:30pm, as well as through the 6:00pm performances July 26th-28th. Staff are also expected to attend pre-program production meetings (Dates TBD) as well as staff training June 12-16 (includes additional compensation).
