The Media Theatre, a non-profit 501c3, is seeking candidates for a part time position of Box Office Manager.


DESCRIPTION

The Box Office Manager is a part-time position (approximately 15-30 hours per week) and is responsible for providing excellent customer service and fostering a professional atmosphere within the Box Office. The position will be required to manage the box office during show times on a rotational basis, and work the majority of the posted routine Box Office hours (W-F from 11a-4p).


DUTIES

  • Serve as Box Officer during routine hours, which runs W-F from 11a-4pm, answering phone calls, responding to and monitoring the general submission email inbox. 
  • Serve as Box Officer during performance events when available, which generally occur on evenings and weekends.
  • Accurately process ticketing transactions on the telephone, or via written communications using the PatronManager (LEAP) software.
  • Model excellent customer service to work-study employees and demonstrate poise in patron interactions.
  • Assist with hiring, training and scheduling of additional box office staff.
  • Disseminate event information to the box office staff on a regular basis regarding specific show and rental events.
  • Provide support to the Box Officers on policies and procedures.
  • Supervise Box Office in terms of scheduling, office needs, and patron outreach.
  • Assist with the subscription renewal process
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Group Sales and ensure effective communication 
  • Maintain the reconciliation and tracking policy of petty cash, credit card transactions and cash deposits.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Artistic Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of sales and performing arts administration.
  • Box Office sales customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of PatronManager(LEAP) a plus, though extensive training will be included.
  • At least one year of supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Collaborative team player
  • Excellent communication and motivational skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and courteous demeanor.
  • Knowledge of office software, especially Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, and Zoom.

TIMELINE & COMPENSATION

The deadline for submissions is Friday, July 19 EOD. Ideal candidates are available to begin August. The anticipated compensation is hourly, at $20 per hour.
