The Hum’n’Bards Theatre Troupe and Allen's Lane Arts Center are looking to cast a small ensemble of performers for a devised production of “Alice in Wonderland '' presented at The Allens Lane Art Center as part of their Children's Theater program. This will be a devised musical piece, so roles will be determined during the devising process. Singing and skills with a musical instrument are encouraged but not mandatory. We encourage actors of all ethnicities and gender identities to audition.
About the show:
A young girl follows a rabbit into a hole, and suddenly finds herself in a strange world where no one can agree on who - or what! - she is. Can Alice find her way home, and will she stay true to herself along the way? Adapted from the works of Lewis Carroll by The Hum’n’bards Theater Troupe and featuring original music and songs, this Alice in Wonderland is a journey the young and the young at heart will never forget.
Rehearsal Schedule:
Beginning in early February; schedule will be created before then based on actor availability.
Performance Schedule:
April 14 (7pm Show)
April 15 (2pm Matinee & 6pm Show)
April 16 (2pm Matinee)
All performances will take place at Allen’s Lane Arts Center.
COVID SAFETY:
All cast and crew for this production will be required to show proof of vaccination in order to participate, including keeping up-to-date with available boosters. For performances, all audience members will be required to wear masks.
AUDITION INFORMATION:
In-person auditions will take place at The Painted Mug Cafe on January 25th from 6-10pm. Staff will be masked at all times, auditioners are welcome to perform without masking if they choose.
For anyone unable to audition in-person, video submissions may be sent no later than January 25th for consideration.
For the audition, applicants have a choice of preparing a monologue and/or a song; It can be dramatic or comedic, classical or contemporary, original or something that’s already established. We’re looking for strong character work and the ability to collaborate to create an amazing performance.
