Director Deb Schrager is looking for actors for the following roles:
Montague “Monty” Navarro
A middle-class Englishman who, after discovering he is ninth in line to become the Earl of Highhurst, intends to kill off the family who stands in his way. Monty is handsome, clever, vulnerable and effortlessly charming. Despite his vengeful acts, Monty must have a winning charm which endears him to the audience. Monty must also have excellent comedic timing and diction.
Vocal Range: Legit. low A to high A (A2-A4) Age Range: 20s to 30s
The D’Ysquith Family
One of the most noteworthy aspects of Gentleman’s Guide is that one actor plays all the members of the D’Ysquith Family. Each family member is a different farce on 20th century British high society. Therefore, the actor who plays these nine family members must be a transformational comedic actor with excellent accent ability in order to establish and differentiate each family member. The actor must have strong stamina in order to carry the different characters and make extraordinarily quick costume changes.
Vocal Range: Must be able to carry a musical theater tune without hesitation. B2-F4

Sibella Hallward
A sexy and flirtatious social climber who Monty loves. She has affection for Monty but more affection for social status. Sibella is smart, charming, stylish and narcissistic.
Vocal Range: Soprano. low F# to high A (F#3 to A5) Age Range: 20s to 30s
Phoebe D’Ysquith
Monty’s earnest “cousin” and potential wife! Phoebe is beautiful and sophisticated with a youthful innocence. Phoebe must have a good sense of humor and irony.
Vocal Range: Coloratura soprano. B3 up to a high sustained C#6 with an optional high Eb6. (B3 to C#6)
Miss Marietta Shingle
A sneaky and mysterious cockney housekeeper. An eccentric storyteller and long-time friend of Monty’s deceased mother. She informs Monty that he is indeed a D’Ysquith.
Vocal Range: Character Mezzo. Cockney accent. A3-A5.
Age Range: 40s to 60s
Ensemble
Seeking a small group of strong singers and storytellers who will portray a variety of 20th century British characters. Ensemble will be featured in at least five numbers. There are plenty of sung solo lines in ensemble numbers. Most prominent ensemble roles include funeral mourners, ancestral portraits and servants of Highhurst castle. Some featured ensemble roles include but are not limited to Miss Evangeline Barley, Lady Eugenia and Chief Inspector Pinckney. For auditions, you will be required to tell us a joke using a British cockney accent.
