Audition Notice – A RAINBOW HOLIDAY

Old Academy Players is pleased to announce the audition date for its 2024–2025 production of A RAINBOW HOLIDAY by LORI SIGRIST AND JOE SIMONELLI. A RAINBOW HOLIDAY will be performed at the Old Academy Players theater located at 3544 Indian Queen Lane, Philadelphia, PA  19129 from November 1st through November 17th, 2024. The show is directed by Terri Fries Bateman and produced by Joan and Randy Shupp.

Auditions:

Old Academy Players welcomes new talent! Please note: Old Academy Players is a non-profit community theater.  All roles are performed on a volunteer basis. If you are auditioning for a show, please complete our Audition Form [https://oldacademyplayers.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/OAP-Forms-for-web_Audition-Form.pdf] in advance of the audition.

Audition Date & Time: July 13, 2024, 11am to 2pm.

All roles are non-union, non-paying

Location of Auditions: Old Academy Players located at 3544 Indian Queen Lane, Philadelphia, PA. There is free parking onsite, located behind the theater.

Audition Requirements:

·   Please bring a current headshot and audition form completed.  Sides will be provided for a cold read.

·   All actors who are cast will be required to assist with set-building and set striking. In addition, performers are required to assist the hospitality committee with one performance of our Alabama Story (September 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 27th, 28th, 29th, 2024 Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m., Sunday at 2:00 p.m.)

Performance Dates: 

·   Wednesday, October 30 at 7:30 pm

·   November 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 16th, 17th (Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm; Sundays at 2:00 pm)

*Additional performances may be added.

Show Information: You plan the perfect Thanksgiving dinner for some special guests. Suddenly, a guest that was invited until the next day shows up and everything starts to unravel and all your plans go awry Relationships come unglued and everything is questioned. What happened to the thanks in Thanksgiving? Come see how a traditional Thanksgiving gets turned up on its head!

Jerry Collins – Maggie’s boyfriend (MALE, mid 50’s to 60’s)

Adam Anderson – Maggie’s son (MALE, late 20’s/early to mid 30’s)

Adam Kent – Adam’s boyfriend (MALE, late 20’s/early to mid 30’s)

Allison Boyer – Maggie’s daughter, Adam’s sister (FEMALE, mid to late 20’s)

Daniel Boyer – Allison’s husband (MALE, mid to late 20’s)

Julie Mason – Jerry’s daughter (FEMALE, late 20’s/early 30’s)

Mark Mason – Julie’s husband (MALE, early 30’s)

The Old Academy Players has provided continuous community theater entertainment since 1923 and is a non-profit community theater in East Falls neighborhood of Philadelphia. Constructed in 1819, the Old Academy building has been the OAP home since 1932. Old Academy Players is a member of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.  Most notable alumni include Tony Award-nominated actor Robert Prosky and Hollywood icon, Grace Kelly.  Support is provided by the "Philadelphia Cultural Fund".
