Associate Producers

Cannonball Festival

Post Date: May 21, 2023

CANNONBALL FESTIVAL ASSOCIATE PRODUCERS

We envision a three year cycle of Cannonball producers, outlined in our Proposal for Sustainable, Community-Led Curation. Therefore, we ask that interested individuals consider the Associate Producer position a commitment to a three year term as a Producer.

Number of positions available: 4
Compensation: $4,250 stipend
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours a week June-August, Full Time in September 2023
Start date: ASAP
Please fill out staffing application by June 15

Applicants will be interviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Cannonball Festival is an independently produced performing arts hub of the Philadelphia Fringe, that presents risk-taking independent artists in back-to-back performances next to delicious lounge spaces, fostering creative collisions and community conversation.

Associate Producers primarily serve as Venue Managers and/or Artistic Producers during Cannonball, and are asked to serve a total of twenty-two (22) 8-9 hour shifts during the month of September, as well as assist with artist services, extension programming, marketing and other producing responsibilities over the summer and during the Festival. Producers hustle, put out fires, and generally make sure that the great ship Cannonball stays on course and is as fun and fringey as possible. Throughout their term as Associate Producers, they learn valuable skills and processes for how Cannonball is managed, and will identify areas of interest on which they would like to focus their time and effort. We highly encourage artists with a bit (or a lot!) of experience self-producing and with lots of strong impulses around how to organize space, people, data, words, or anything else to apply. After Cannonball 2023, it is our intention that Associate Producers will become Core Producers, and in January, 2024, will begin crafting the programmatic tracks and open call for Cannonball 2024.

Note: For applicant planning purposes, though budgets are not yet confirmed and compensation is partially based on the division of labor among the cohort, we hope to be able to offer 2024 Core Producers a stipend in the $7,000-$8,000 range, and 2025 Mentoring Producers a stipend in the $5,000 range.
