Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, PA is in search of an Associate Producer. Once a jewel in the summer stock circuit crown, the Playhouse re-opened in 2012 after a stunning restoration and is becoming one of the leading regional theaters on the East Coast. The Playhouse presents a year-round schedule of original productions of new and classic plays and musicals, cabaret performances, readings, workshops and live events. Its two-acre campus includes the historic 425-seat playhouse, a cabaret and event space in a 18th century stone barn, an outdoor courtyard café, waterfall picnic area, river promenade, and Playhouse Deck, a full restaurant/bar. About the Position

The Associate Producer reports to Producing Director Alexander Fraser, and is part a team led by Alex, Executive Producer Robyn Goodman and Producer Josh Fiedler. This position provides a unique opportunity to work in the artistic department of a renowned theatre with an annual budget of $10M+. The Associate Producer collaborates with industry-leading creative teams, actors, and producers. This is a demanding position that requires a driven and passionate professional with razor sharp focus and attention to detail. This is an exempt full-time position and requires some work on nights and weekends as needed as well as occasional trips to New York City.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.

 

Salary Range: $48,000 - $50,000 annually

 

Start Date: January 6, 2024

 

Associate Producer Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

 

·      Actively supporting Producers in all produced and presented productions, season planning, and artistic programs including but not limited to the new work development program, the Playhouse Apprentice Program, and the Barn Cabaret Series.

·      Serving as line producer for the Barn Cabaret Series, new play development readings and workshops, and other programming as assigned.

·      Coordinating the Playhouse Apprentice Program for recent grads of professional training programs, including screening virtual auditions, scheduling masterclasses and networking events, and working to expand the program to include directors, choreographers and designers.

·      For the Playhouse Visiting Artists Series (VAS): researching interesting, mission appropriate presentations, developing relationships with agents/reps, initiating contact and preliminary deal conversations, and building relationships with the artists onsite.

·      Coordinating appropriate details with Production and General Management departments including calendar creation, communication, assisting in budget and contract creation and review.

·      Attending with and/or representing the Producers in creative meetings, rehearsals, tech, and performances, including Opening Nights as needed.

·      Organizing the theater’s literary management by tracking script submissions, writing script reports for new plays and musicals, and undertaking research as needed.

·      Covering productions, readings, and presentations in NYC as needed.

·      Assisting with show licenses and licensing relationships.

·      Coordinating casting with casting director, attending EPA’s, ECC’s as needed.

·      Providing support in maintaining positive relationships with actors and creative teams.

·      Maintaining creative databases and lists, including show ideas, creative teams, casting, and script library.

·      Various administrative tasks, including but not limited to updating artistic calendars, scheduling meetings for the producing director, keeping track of action items and their subsequent completion across all creative departments, and facilitating cross-department communication.
