Actors with clowning and movement experience for A Christmas Carol

Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble (BTE) is seeking actors for a 3-person, clown-style version of A Christmas Carol, written and directed by Amy Rene Byrne, Resident Artist with BTE. This production will be double cast/rotating cast in order to respect our 5-day work week and to allow for substitutions in case of illness.

• Actors with strong physical comedy and movement skills, dialect skills, flexibility with quick character changes
• Any gender, any ethnicity, any age

Important Dates:

• Rehearsals Begin: October 28th, 2024
• Tech: November 21st, 2024
• Previews: November 29th and November 30th, 2024 (matinee)
• Opening: November 30th, 2024 (evening)
• Closing: December 28th, 2024
• Note: there is no performance on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. There ARE performances on December 26th-28th.

BTE rehearses on a 5-day work week, Monday-Friday, which shifts when we move into tech and performances. A typical show week for A Christmas Carol will include student matinees at 10am Tuesday-Thursday, evening performances at 7:30PM Thursday-Saturday, and a 3PM matinee on Sunday.

• Auditions: Submit a video audition of a 1 minute monologue showcasing your best British dialect(s) (if you have multiple, please switch dialects within the monologue) and a 30 second clown etude of your own creation.
