2023-24 Season Apprentices

InterAct Theatre Company

Post Date: Feb 28, 2023

InterAct Theatre Company is offering part-time 2023-24 Season apprenticeships for emerging theatre professionals interested in what goes on behind the scenes. This program is intended to give apprentices hands-on experience in a professional theatre company’s administrative and production operations. Join the next generation of theatre professionals making theatre for today’s world.

Apprentices will work 20 hours per week in the office during InterAct’s business hours. Primary office duties include box office, customer service, office administration and facilities management. Additional office duties will vary day-by-day, and may include assisting with marketing and social media, development and fundraising, literary management and other needs. In addition, apprentices will participate in season selection for the upcoming year, and other opportunities may arise to participate in new play development and casting.

For each of InterAct’s main stage productions, each apprentice will rotate in Front-of-House positions and Production Assistant. During these rotations, apprentices will be called for weeknights and weekends; weekly office hours will be adjusted accordingly.

Please note: The duties and structure listed are what we currently anticipate for the 2023-24 Season but are subject to change.

Apprentices receive a $800 monthly stipend; flexible scheduling; complimentary tickets to InterAct productions and other productions at The Drake; opportunities to work with local and visiting artists; introductions to local theatre professionals; and direct access to staff for professional development and mentorship. The 2023-24 Season Apprenticeship will run September 5, 2023 through June 30, 2024. Housing and health benefits are not provided.

InterAct is dedicated to producing new and contemporary plays about the most pressing social, political and cultural issues of our time, and to improving the regional climate for new plays. InterAct is committed to building a diverse staff and strongly encourages applications from minority candidates. To learn more about InterAct, visit our website at www.interacttheatre.org
